Are tickets required for the Graduate or Undergraduate Ceremony?

No, tickets are not required for either event. Seating is first come, first served. If any of your guests require special assistance, please visit the Guests with Disabilities page for more information.

How long is the Graduate or Undergraduate Ceremony?

Both the Graduate and Undergraduate Ceremony should last between 2-2.5 hours. Please keep in mind traffic exiting the Oakland area lasts roughly 20-30 minutes.

Will there be food available for the Graduate or Undergraduate Ceremony?

Prior to and during each ceremony, the concession stands will offer "game day" fare.  

As a guest, what can I bring into Graduate or Undergraduate Ceremony?

The Stadium Bag policy is in effect for both events. Please see the list of prohibited items on the Petersen Events Center page.

As a graduate, what can I bring into Graduate or Undergraduate Ceremony?

We request that graduates DO NOT bring large bags or purses, personal items, alcohol or props of any kind. NOTE: You will possibly be walking on uneven surfaces, stairs and/or long aisle ways. Please be mindful in your shoe selection.

Will there be a photographer at the Graduate or Undergraduate Ceremony?

There will not be a photographer present for individual photos. We encourage family and friends to take as many photos as they would like before, during and after the ceremony.

Where can I obtain a formal letter for my family's visa application to attend Commencement?

Please email the Office of Special Events to inquire about obtaining a formal letter.

How can I confirm my name on my diploma?

Contact the registrar's office at 412-624-7627 or you may visit them on campus: G-3 Thackeray Hall to confirm or change any information on your diploma.
