Class of 2020 Ceremony

A new school year has started and we are still navigating what activities on campus look like amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Along those lines, I have an important change to our plans for Homecoming weekend to share: We have decided it would be best to shift your in-person commencement ceremony to Pitt’s spring 2022 commencement.

I know this may be disappointing for some of you, but I ask for your understanding. You may recall that earlier this year we surveyed your interest in attending an in-person commencement ceremony to celebrate your class. We gained many useful insights from the feedback we received, and we have realized that we can provide the best experience for the class of 2020 and their family members by holding your celebration during Pitt’s spring 2022 commencement exercises.

Please be on the lookout in the months ahead for your invitation to join a celebration of both your class and the class of 2022.

And if you haven’t done so already, please make sure Pitt has your preferred contact information so we can reach you with updates on commencement and other alumni news.

The class of 2020 powered through so much at the height of the pandemic to achieve ambitious goals in amazing ways. I sincerely appreciate your patience and grace as we forge ahead to celebrate you in the grand style you deserve in the spring.

Warmest regards,

Ann E. Cudd
