Commencement Announcement from February 12, 2025
Commencement is such an important time at the University of Pittsburgh. In the presence of family and friends, and our faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters, we come together as a Pitt community to mark a completion and a new beginning for our graduates.
In May, we will be graduating the largest class in Pitt history. To ensure every student can participate and receive an appropriate number of tickets for their family and friends, the venue for Spring Commencement is being moved to PPG Paints Arena; the commencement date will remain the same – May 4, 2025. The ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m.
In the coming weeks, eligible graduates will receive invitations from the Office of Special Events with an April 9 deadline to register for the ceremony and to receive four tickets to the ceremony. There will also be an opportunity to request up to two additional tickets if they become available when students register to attend the ceremony.
We wish our Pitt graduates all the very best, and we look forward to recognizing their many achievements and to commemorate this special moment in the weeks ahead.
